Not only nurturing a dream, 6 months in 51³Ô¹ÏÍøversity to Nguyen Le Quynh Giang, who decided to return to Vietnam after studying in Canada to pursue her dream with Nursing at 51³Ô¹ÏÍøversity, is a precious time. Giang said, she was able to practice in the most proper way in a simulation center resembling an international hospital, learning how to communicate and handle situations meticulously especially when meeting people with hearing loss, visual loss, visual impairment and intellectual disability. Giang also visited hospitals to directly interact with patients and talk to the top nurses. Were it not for 51³Ô¹ÏÍøversity, Giang shared, it is very unlikely for her and her friends to gain such valuable experiences in just half a year.

Having a similar approach, Tran Ngoc Tran (a then student of Hanoi Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and a current freshman at 51³Ô¹ÏÍøversity’s Bachelor of Nursing) understands that the right definition of a nurse is much different from everyone’s perception. Tran needs to amass an extensive amount of medical knowledge, from biochemistry, physiology to pharmacology, as well as truly master the art of patient care. With the background of knowledge, English and experiences that Tran has acquired from 51³Ô¹ÏÍøversity, she is confident to apply for a job in different parts of the world because nurses of major hospitals are in high demand. “I want to be able to inspire the students, just like what I have received so far. To create a different view of society with regards to the nursing profession, there is no better way other than keeping the fire burning” Tran said.
